Pick & Place Delta Robots in Auckland & Hamilton

High Speed Pick & Place Robots

What is a Delta robot?

A delta robot is a type of parallel robot that consists of three arms connected to universal joints at the base.

Delta robots are ideal for assembly, dispensing, pick and place, material handling, parts transfer, and robotic packaging applications.

The delta arm robot can pick, place and orient parts from an inbound conveyor to an outbound conveyor at more than 180 parts per minute or three parts every second.

Delta robots are built for speed. They use a high-speed motor assembly that drives light weight carbon fibre arms to a high degree of repeatability.

Delta robots are widely used in the Packing industry, High-precision assembly operations, Medical-Pharmaceutical operations, Food processing, Cosmetics, Soldering and Adhesive dispensing.

Delta robots are manufactured in different sizes and with speed performances to cater for a variety of applications.

The implementation of delta robots

ACSE have successfully installed High Speed Pick and Place robots in a variety of food and packaging industries.

ACSE has supplied, installed, and commissioned a high-speed pick and place robot at Fonterra. This high-speed pick and place robot picks milk power sachets from a moving conveyor belt and places them into carton boxes.

We have also supplied, installed, and commissioned a pick and place robot on a packaging manufacture line. In this case, packaging containers moving on a conveyor belt are inspected by a machine vision system. The pick and place robot picks the packaging containers from a moving belt and stacks them on an index belt to a selectable height from where they are packed into carton boxes.

The benefits of delta robots

The servo motors of delta robots are mounted on the body of the robot, which allows the robot to move at a much higher speed than traditional robotic arms. Depending on the model, these robots can reach speeds of 10 meters a second.

The integrated vision system allows the robot to pick and place with a precision accuracy of less than 0.5mm.

These high-speed pick and place robots help manufacturers stay competitive in the global market place and ensure consistent production outputs even in times of worker shortages.
